Container Item Names

In order to maintain compatibility with JSON and plist files, the name in an Object's name:value pair is by default case sensitive. You can change this via the Treat container object item names as case insensitive setting in Settings - Actions - General. You can also override the setting at runtime via a Modify Application Settings statement. The current value of the setting can be read at runtime via a Get Info statement.

When using case insensitive names there are a few things you should be aware of:

• When setting a name:value, the function is case preserving.
• When extracting a value of or removing a name:value item, the first case insensitive match is the source or destination of the function. This could create issues in the unlikely event than an object has more than one name:value pair when the names only differ by alphabetic base.
