Various items on the Action menu's Copy Metadata submenu support the copying of configured items. This panel provides the configuration capabilities and optionally lets you perform a metadata copy.
The table at the top of the panel allows you to select which metadata you wish to copy or which metadata you do not want to copy. The table displaying the fields has a context menu which allows you to set, clear or invert all items. More information on how selected files are processed can be found in Field Selection Modes in Tables.
When copying metadata and fields which support multiple items are specified, all items in the field are copied. A complete list of these field types can he found in the Multiple Items and Multiple Values topic.
If you are copying Comments, User Defined Text Info and/or User Defined URL metadata, you can configure exclusions or inclusions for each of the field types. The Configure button is used to display a panel where you can specify a list of named items to be excluded or included. The Multi Item Transfer Rules topic describes the formatting. Note that the Configure button is preceded by a grey circle if nothing is configured. If something is configured, the circle is green.
The displayed fields and the current exclusions/inclusions field content defines the default configuration. You can use the Manage named sets disclosure button to display a menu which may contain the following items:
- Load Named Configuration
The submenu will display the names of all configurations that you have saved. Clicking on a name will load the associated configuration, overwriting the default configuration.- Save to Named Configuration...
A panel will be displayed allowing you to specify a name for a saved configuration. You can specify a new name or an existing configuration's name to overwrite it.- Delete Named Configuration
A submenu will be displayed allowing you to select a single saved configuration to be deleted or allowing you to delete all saved configurations.
Note that the Close button will close the panel, without copying anything, saving the default configuration.
If you wish you can apply the default configuration. You specify the copy function and then use the Apply → to close the panel and start copying.
