You can elect to show or hide a single column from the main window table header's context menu. Rather than do a single column at a time you can select Manage Displayed Columns... from the same context menu. A panel will be displayed allowing you to specify your choice for each column.
The panel table's context menu has items to Show All, Hide All, Show Selected and Hide Selected.
You can also specify that you want to auto size all columns whenever you save your changes.
When first displayed all showing columns are sorted to the top of the list. You can change the sort order by clicking on either column header.
If you prefer to always use the panel you can hide the list of available columns in the menu by selecting the Hide Column List menu item. Subsequently selecting Show Column List will cause the list of columns to again be present the next time the menu is displayed.
