You can sort by any main window column by clicking on a column's header. Successive clicks on a column header, toggles the sort between ascending and descending. You can choose various built in sorting methods by right clicking on any column's header and then choosing one of the following menu items from the Sort menu:
- Standard Sort
- Album ascending
- Disk ascending
- Track ascending
- Path ascending
Designed to keep audio albums together.
- Sort By Path Extension
- filename extension ascending
- standard sort
Convenient when copying metadata between two albums which only differ in theiir filename extensions.
- Sort by Folder
- path to folder ascending
- standard sort
A folder centric sort.
- Video Sort
- has video descending
- Show Name ascending
- Season ascending
- Episode ascending
- Title or if empty, filename ascending
- standard sort
Places all movies at the top of the list, followed by grouped TV shows, followed by audio albums.
- Randomize
- The files are sorted in a random order.
- Sort Selected First
- The sort order is preserved other than moving selected items to the top of the list.

- Allows you to apply a saved sort.
- Set Default Sort
- The default sort is automatically applied when files are loaded and the Open Mode is Album. By default, this is set to Standard Sort. All submenus display the default sort preceded by ✓.
- Create Named Sort...
- A panel will be displayed which allows you to specify up to five sort criteria each of which can be ascending or descending. You must assign a unique name to the sort.
- Delete Named Sort
- Presents a submenu where you can choose which saved sort to delete.
You can also set any sort order by dragging files to their desired position.
The sorting of columns is also affected by the Settings - File List options Use natural sorting and Use sort fields when sorting.
