Accessing Actions from a Menu

The menus discussed in this topic are also available on the main window's context menu and as toolbar items.



The Actions>User Defined Menu

This menu displays a list of all non hidden actions. The menu displays the same order and folder structure as is displayed in the Action Manager. Actions which are not available due to no files being currently selected, are displayed disabled.


The Actions>Actions by Icon Menu

A menu will be displayed organized by action icons. Each item's submenu will contain a list of actions which have been assigned the associated icon. The submenu is sorted by descending priority (1, 2, 3, ...) and ascending action name. Note that only actions which can currently be run are displayed. Actions which are not available due to no files being currently selected, are not displayed.



The Actions>Actions by Grouping Menu

A menu will be displayed organized by grouping. Each item's submenu will contain a list of actions associated with the displayed grouping. The submenu is sorted by descending priority (1, 2, 3, ...) and ascending action name. Note that only actions which can currently be run are displayed. Actions which are not available due to no files being currently selected, are not displayed.



Selecting an Action from a Menu

By default, selecting a menu item will run the associated action. If the Option key (configurable in Settings - General - Advanced - Modifiers to display function submenus) is held when a menu item is selected, the following menu will be displayed:

Edit...
This menu item will open the selected action in an Action Editor window.

Locate...
This menu item will open the Action Manager and the selected action will be highlighted.

The name of the action
If selected, the displayed action will be run.
