Certain Yate functionality operates differently if modifier keys are held down.

Starting and Stopping the Application
Holding down the Option key will disable the autoloading of sticky databases in the recently opened list. (Specified by Settings-General-Advanced Open sticky databases on startup).
Holding down the Shift key when starting or closing Yate will disable the auto import and export of a settings file. (Specified in Settings-General-Advanced Auto import/export settings file).
These sequences also apply to the same items in the main windows's context menu.
On the File>Open Recent menu, holding down the Option key causes the Clear Menu item to become Clear Entire Menu. This will remove sticky as well as non-sticky items. Holding down the Shift key when clicking on an item, toggles its stickiness.
Most application menus which display a list of items support a modifier key sequence to display a function submenu. The modifier sequence is initially the Option key. The sequence can be changed in Settings - General - Advanced - Modifiers to display function submenus.
If you hold down the Shift key while clicking on an item on the File>Open Track Playing In menu, you will be asked if you want to remove the selected player interface.
If you hold down the Shift key while clicking on an item on the File>Open With menu, you will be asked if you want to remove the selected application.
When dragging a single folder to the main windows file list area, holding down the Shift key will attempt to load the artwork from the folder's icon as opposed to opening the folder's contents.
Holding down the Shift key when dragging a Yate settings file to the main window's file list area, will display the contents of the file as opposed to importing it.
Holding down the Option key when dragging a plist file to the main window's file list area.
Holding down the Shift key when clicking on the Add to Staging Playlist toolbar button, the staging playlist will be opened and no items will be added.
Holding down the Shift key while dragging an image from an artwork panel, will cause the image to be saved as folder.jpg regardless of its mime type.
In any edit panel, when you click on the disclosure button to the right of a field associated with a list, holding down the Option key will append a selected item using a multi value delimiter (;;;) sequence. Note that when Option is held when clicking on the disclosure button, the associated field's text will be displayed green. Typically this append mode is only enabled if a multi value delimiter sequence is already in the field. The append mode can also be enabled by holding down the Option key and typing a down arrow while editing the field.
Holding down the Shift key when starting the wizard, will cause any saved import settings to be ignored. The last specified values will be used.
When you release the drag of a field and the Shift key is held, you are pointing to the new lower left position of the field, as opposed to the upper left position.
Control-letter will display a list of available tokens starting with the specified letter.
Holding down the Shift key when clicking on the Format button will remove formatting.
In the File to Tag template editor, if the Shift key is held when the preview button is clicked, you are prompted to supply test data for the preview operation.
When saving files and you are warned that a file has been externally modified, you are presented with a panel asking what you would like to do. Normally selecting Choose for all files only affects the files currently being saved. Holding down the Shift key while clicking on the Save button and Choose for all files is enabled, will disable the warning on a more permanent basis. Unless warnings are reset via Yate>Reset Warnings, the warning panel will not be displayed again. Save will be assumed.
When clicking on a database cell's popup menu item and the Option key is held, the menu item's text will be appended to the current cell value as opposed to overwriting it.
When double clicking on an action and the Option key is held, the action will be run as opposed to being opened in an editor.
When inserting an item from a text field's Insert ... context menu submenu, if the Shift key is held, the selected content is inserted without the enclosing escape sequence. Note that in fields which expect the content to be unescaped, Shift will cause it to be escaped.
When inserting a markup sequence from a context menu, if the Option key is held, the closing sequence will not be inserted.
When a help button is displayed on a prompt panel issued by an action, it may describe help defined in the action. When the Option key is pressed, while clicking on the help button, the action's resource help (if any) will be displayed in a browser.
