Application Menus

These sequences also apply to the same items in the main windows's context menu.

On the File>Open Recent menu, holding down the Option key causes the Clear Menu item to become Clear Entire Menu. This will remove sticky as well as non-sticky items. Holding down the Shift key when clicking on an item, toggles its stickiness.

Most application menus which display a list of items support a modifier key sequence to display a function submenu. The modifier sequence is initially the Option key. The sequence can be changed in Settings - General - Advanced - Modifiers to display function submenus.

If you hold down the Shift key while clicking on an item on the File>Open Track Playing In menu, you will be asked if you want to remove the selected player interface.

If you hold down the Shift key while clicking on an item on the File>Open With menu, you will be asked if you want to remove the selected application.

When dragging a single folder to the main windows file list area, holding down the Shift key will attempt to load the artwork from the folder's icon as opposed to opening the folder's contents.

Holding down the Shift key when dragging a Yate settings file to the main window's file list area, will display the contents of the file as opposed to importing it.

Holding down the Option key when dragging a plist file to the main window's file list area.

Holding down the Shift key when clicking on the Add to Staging Playlist toolbar button, the staging playlist will be opened and no items will be added.

Holding down the Shift key while dragging an image from an artwork panel, will cause the image to be saved as folder.jpg regardless of its mime type.

In any edit panel, when you click on the disclosure button to the right of a field associated with a list, holding down the Option key will append a selected item using a multi value delimiter (;;;) sequence. Note that when Option is held when clicking on the disclosure button, the associated field's text will be displayed green. Typically this append mode is only enabled if a multi value delimiter sequence is already in the field. The append mode can also be enabled by holding down the Option key and typing a down arrow while editing the field.
