Often you simply want to jot down a quick note. The Yate Notepad is designed just for that reason.
The Notepad is displayed from the View menu.
You can adjust the size of the font via Font>Bigger and Font>Smaller. You can switch to a fixed font or back to a proportional font via the context menu item Use Fixed Font. Note that separate font sizes are retained for fixed and proportional fonts.
You can change the background colour of the window from the context menu.
You can insert a timestamp via the context menu's Insert Timestamp menu item.
Spell check settings are retained and are set from the context menu.
The file is automatically saved when the window loses focus. You can manually save the file at any time via File>Save. You can also save it to a different location via File>Save As.
The file is stored by default at ~/Library/Application Support/Yate/Yate Notepad.txt. You can change the location in Settings - General.
