Settings - AcoustID

This panel provides access to options used to control the behaviour of the AcoustID functionality.

The Preferred country codes are used when attempting to determine which MusicBrainz release best matches the tracks being processed. If you wish you can enter a list of two character country codes, optionally separated by spaces, to set your preferred countries. Note that alphabetic case is ignored. Items at the start of the list are given a higher priority than items at the end of the list. Note that the list of countries is only used when multiple releases meet the requirements for matching. You can use the supplied disclosure button to display a menu containing a list of countries whose associated country code will be appended when selected. More information on two character country codes can be referenced at the following links:

When attempting to determine the best match for a number of tracks, Yate by default looks for a release which contains all the tracks in the most preferred (leftmost) country code. You can change the priority to be complete albums over country codes.

If enabled, the Retain status when getting AcoustID data option, will save the Network Response property set when downloading data from AcoustID. The property is saved to a UDTI named AcoustID Status. The retained value is examined by the Get Data from AcoustID and Create AcoustID Fingerprint statements. A timestamp is also retained in the item. The format is:

response code | timestamp

Th response code values are as follows:

1
Data was downloaded but it did not contain any potential results.
2
No network access occurred because the fingerprint data did not exist.
3
No network access occurred because the AcoustID data was available in the track.
200
Successfully downloaded and imported the Acoustid Data.
other
Data was not downloaded. The value is an HTTP status code.

The Do not fingerprint if AcoustID data is available option causes the Create AcoustID Fingerprint statement to check for the existence of the AcoustID data prior to fingerprinting.

The following three options are shared with MusicBrainz processing. The values are the same as the same setting's values in MusicBrainz settings.

Artists may have more than one value. If Combine multiple value items into a single value is checked, Yate will combine all of the values into a single item which can be displayed properly by other applications.

When combining multiple value items into a single value or when assigning multiple names to a single role in Musician Credits or Involved People, a join sequence is used to separate the items. The join sequence may be specified in the MusicBrainz data or assigned a default value by Yate if one is not. If you wish to always use your own join sequence (separator), you may specify one via the Join override option. Note that spaces are significant. If you want to resume using the default join sequences, completely empty this field.

The presence of commas in person Artist fields can be annoying as the comma character is used in various contexts as a separator. You can elect to leave commas unchanged, to substitute the visually similar Alt Comma character (\_) or to substitute a smart space. A smart space is a space character that is only inserted if required as a separator. eg. A space will be inserted for "A,B" but not for "A, B". This option is shared with AcoustID processing.
