Close Files

All Close variants will prompt you to save or discard unsaved changes. Many of the menu items have different functionality when the Option (Alt) key is pressed. Some of the menu items are not available on the application's File menu.

Selected
All selected files will be closed. This is the behaviour of the Close Files toolbar item.

Not Selected
All visible files which are not selected will be closed.

All Visible
All files displayed in the file list (not hidden files).

In the Same Folder
All files which are in the same folder as any selected file, will be closed.

In the Same Folder as Clicked Row   (Option on Context menu only)
All files which are in the same folder as the file associated with the clicked row, will be closed.

Not in the Same Folder
All files which are not in the same folder as any selected file, will be closed.

Not in the Same Folder as Clicked Row   (Option on Context menu only)
All files which are not in the same folder as the file associated with the clicked row, will be closed.

In the Same Album
All files which are in the same album as any selected file, will be closed. Note that the album comparisons are performed case insensitive.

In the Same Album as Clicked Row   (Option on Context menu only)
All files which are in the same album as the file associated with the clicked row, will be closed. Note that the album comparisons are performed case insensitive.

Not in the Same Album
All files which are not in the same album as any selected file, will be closed. Note that the album comparisons are performed case insensitive.

Not in the Same Album as Clicked Row    (Option on Context menu only)
All files which are not in the same album as the file associated with the clicked row, will be closed. Note that the album comparisons are performed case insensitive.

With Same Column Data   (Context menu only)
Data is matched based on a clicked column. The set of matching column data is extracted from all selected files. Any file which has column data found in the matching set, will be closed.

With Same Column Data as Clicked Row   (Option on Context menu only)
Data is matched based on a clicked column. The set of matching column data is extracted from the file associated with the clicked row. Any file which has column data found in the matching set, will be closed.

With Different Column Data   (Context menu only)
Data is matched based on a clicked column. The set of matching column data is extracted from all selected files. Any file which does not have column data found in the matching set, will be closed.

With Different Column Data as Clicked Row   (Option on Context menu only)
Data is matched based on a clicked column. The set of matching column data is extracted from the file associated with the clicked row. Any file which does not have column data found in the matching set, will be closed.

Matching Filter   (Context menu only)
The specified saved filter is applied. Any file matching the filter criteria is closed.

Not Matching Filter   (Context menu only)
The specified saved filter is applied. Any file not matching the filter criteria is closed.

You can elect to save changes automatically when closing files from the Settings - General panel, by checking the Auto save files on close option.

When linked files are saved, Yate will automatically tell the appropriate Apple application to refresh its metadata. You can manually tell an Apple application to refresh its data for all selected files via the Action>Refresh Apple App menu item and via the Refresh Apple App action.
