Find Multibyte Characters in Fields

 

This action is used to identify multibyte characters in specified fields. Multibyte characters cannot be displayed in Latin-1 (ISO-8859-1)and are Unicode characters.

Specified fields are re-encoded with the Fold Characters function prior to testing. More information on character folding can be found here. The pre folding is performed as the rename functionality folds characters when encoding is set to Force Latin-1 is specified.

The action can be run from the Mult Field Editor or a field's associated function button. When run directly, the following fields are always examined: Album, Album Artist, Artist and Title. If any multibyte characters are found, results will be displayed in the log viewer.
