The Finder should be updating its displayed metadata whenever a file is saved. However, certain remote or external drives may be slow to update.
The Tell Finder to Refresh action tells the Finder to update its display of all of its open windows.
The Save All Modified Files and Refresh the Finder action saves all visible modified files and then manually refreshes the Finder.
The Save Selected Modified Files and Refresh the Finder action saves all selected modified files and then manually refreshes the Finder.
Note that the manual refreshing of the Finder is not needed if everything is working as expected.
