Open Opus

Open Opus (openopus.org) provides free classical metadata for a number of composers and their works.

Prior to this release, the dataset was provided as a Yate database file. The issue with this method is that the remote data changes from time to time and the distributed database could become antiquated.

Starting with this release, an action is distributed which extracts and builds the database file from the web based content. Run the Create Opus Database DB action to create the database. You will be prompted for the name and location of the database files. Note that if you want to rename the database you should run the action again as the linkage between the database files and the following two actions is established when the Create Opus Database DB action is run.

The Display Composer Artwork action is run directly from the produced database. Right click on a row and select Run Action>Display Composer Artwork. The artwork associated with the clicked row will be displayed in the Artwork Viewer.

The Save Composer Artwork action is run directly from the produced database. Right click on a row and select Run Action>Save Composer Artwork. The artwork associated with the clicked row will be saved to all selected files with a picture type of Composer.
