Roon supports thousands of credits. Some credits are considered aliases of canonical credits. For example Guitar (2 String) while supported by Roon is an alias of the canonical credit 2-String Guitar. This action replaces all non canonical Roon credits with their canonical equivalents.

A few Roon non canonical aliases are associated with more than one canonical credit. For example Violin [Solo] is associated with Violin and Solist. By default the canonical association is the alias as defined in the Combined Credits Editor. You can optionally configure that both canonical credits replace the non canonical credit.

When this action is directly run, ie. not via Repair Credits Invalid for Roon, it has its own configuration.
