Fields and Application Lists

Yate has a number of lists which can be associated with various fields. These lists are available from drop down menus to the right of each appropriate field. These lists include artist names, composer names, genres, etc. The mapping of a field to an application list is performed in Settings - Lists.

When items are selected from a list menu on a field, they will overwrite the contents of the field unless a multi value delimiter (typically ;;;) is present in the field. If a multi value delimiter is present, the selected menu item will be appended to the field.

If you hold down the Option key when displaying a list menu, append mode will be assumed (ie. the field need not contain a multi value delimiter).

Lists can also be configured to always append by the Always Append per field setting in Settings - Lists. You can also toggle the always append state via a field's function button.

When the popup menu is visible and is in append mode, the field's text is displayed green and the type of menu displayed differs.

Multiple items in a field can be sorted and have duplicates removed via the Yate Transformations submenu in a field's context menu.

A field's function button contains items to manually add and remove items from a list and also contain an item to quickly enable the editing of the associated list.
