Field Colour Codes

Plist File Datatypes

Black Plist Keys are simple String data elements.

Blue Plist Keys are Arrays where every item is a Dictionary containing the following keys:

1. The Vorbis (FLAC/OGG) mappings displayed are the out-of-the-box defaults. The mappings may be changed via Settings - FLAC/OGG Mappings

4. Items other than the default have their data encoded as {^L}T where L is the language and T is the text content.
5. Items other than the default have their data encoded as {D}T where D is the description and T is the text content.
6. Items other than the default have their data encoded as {D^L}T where D is the description, L is the language and T is the text content.
7. Values are stored as UFID with the data encoded as {D}T where D is the description and T is the text content. This field type is done outside of the user configurable FLAC mappings.
8. Stored in a ---- atom with a mean value of com.apple.iTunes. The default has a name value of MusicBrainz Track Id. Non default items have a name value of UFID with the data is encoded as {D}T where D is the description and T is the text content.
9. Stored in a ---- atom with a mean value of com.apple.iTunes and a name value of TERMSOFUSE. The data is encoded as {^L}T where L is the language and T is the text content.
10. Items other than the default are stored in a ---- atom with a mean value of com.apple.iTunes and a name value of LYRIC. The data is encoded as {D^L}T where D is the description, L is the language and T is the text content.

12. Stored in a ---- atom with a mean value of com.apple.iTunes. The name value is RATING. The default rating can also be optionally saved in a non standard rate atom. Items other than the default have the data encoded as {D}T where D is the description and T is the rating value.
13. All ID3 files except mp3 and aiff always save to TIT1. mp3 and aiff files save to a non standard GRP1 frame when the Settings - Apple Apps Maximum Grouping-Work Name Compatibility option is set. When the option is set TXXX:YiTG is written with a value of 1.
14. Not valid for DFF and DSF files.
15. Owner information is sometimes written as an email address to an apID atom and sometimes as a name to an ownr atom. Yate will handle both. The Owner field can contain multiple values separated by the multi value delimiter. Yate will write at most one value to apID and one to owner. Values containing an @ character are written to apID while others are written to owner.
16. Stored in a ---- atom with a mean value as displayed in the Mime Type field. The name value is as described in the GEOB table.
17. Beatport Mix Name is stored to the Description field. Yate treats the two fields as synonyms.
18. All unassigned FLAC tags are treated as User Defined Text Info items or User Defined URL items (if the field name contained the text URL). The description field for each of these entries is tag where tag is extracted from tag=value.
19. Typically when a numeric value must be extracted from a Yate field, empty is treated as zero. The Playlist Delay field is the only exception. When empty, this field is treated as non zero. This was done in order to retain a level of sanity so that all uninitialized Playlist Delay fields were not treated as gapless.

21. Items other than the first are stored in a ---- atom with a mean value of com.apple.iTunes and a name value of COMMENT. The data is encoded as {D^L}T where D is the description, L is the language and T is the text content.
22. These items are stored in ---- atoms with a mean value of com.apple.iTunes and a name value representing the description.
23. The APE mappings displayed are the out-of-the-box defaults. The mappings may be changed via Settings - APE Mappings. All Ape tag types other than those marked as text are displayed as Unhandled. Read-only tags are also displayed as Unhandled.
24. The first or default artwork item is always encoded as Cover Art (front). The data is organized as: dummy.jpg\0binary data. A binary tag item named Artwork Descriptor (front) describes the artwork metadata and is formatted as: picture type/description. If a subsequent artwork item is found which has a picture type of Cover (back), it will be encoded as Cover Art (back). An associated binary tag named Artwork Descriptor (back) will be written.
25. Every Artwork-n tag is stored as: picture type/description\0binary data. These represent all artwork items other than the first (default) and the first (non default) occurrence of an artwork item with a picture type of Cover (back).
26. Items other than the first have their data encoded as {D^L}T where D is the description, L is the language and T is the text content. Each item is separated by a single binary 0.
27. Encoded as disc number or disc number/disc count dependent on the APE Audio settings.
28. The description field becomes the field name. Used to store binary APE tags.
29. Successive items are separated by a binary 0.
30. Items other than the first have their data encoded as {D}T where D is the description and T is the text content. Successive items are separated by a binary 0.
31. Items other than the first have their data encoded as {^L}T where L is the language and T is the text content. Successive items are separated by a binary 0.
32. Encoded as track number or track number/track count dependent on the APE Audio settings.
33. All unassigned APE tags are treated as User Defined Text Info items or User Defined URL items (if the field name contained the text URL). The description field for each of these entries is tag where tag is extracted from tag=value.

37. BPM optionally writes a floating point value in a second tag. Note that the standard tag always contains an integer value. More information can be found in Settings-Audio.
38. The type can be one of: ARRANGEMENT, ARRANGEMENT_OF, BASED_ON, BASIS_FOR, IN_MEDLEY, LATER_VERSION, MEDLEY_OF, PART, PART_OF, RECORDING_OF, VERSION_OF.
