Discogs Wizard Release Details

This step of the wizard displays the details for a single release.

Note that if all the files in the current selection already have a common Discogs id, the wizard will open immediately to this panel. If you want to look for a different release, you can click on the New Search button.

The table at the top of the window presents the type of data which can be imported from the release. The importing of each item type may be enabled or disabled by checking or clearing the Import column. Setting the Import value to - implies that the field should only be imported if the associated value in a file is not empty. ie. current non empty values will not be overwritten. The value associated with some items can be edited inline. Yate will retain an item type's enable/disable state until you change it again. Additional information as to how the import column is preset can be found in Discogs & MusicBrainz Import Settings.

Further import granularity is available on a per file basis by means of The Discogs Exclusion Window which is activated from the Actions menu.

You can enable or disable the import all of the items at once by right clicking in the table and selecting the appropriate context menu item. You can also choose to import all items only if they are currently empty. Note that certain items may contain more than one value separated by the multi value delimiter.

If an item's field value contains the text URL, you can open the associated web page by selecting Open URL from the context menu or by double clicking on the item. The context menu also allows you to copy the contents of the Value field to the clipboard.

If the Master id item is selected, it has a value and it is different that the Release id value, you can open the master by selecting Open Master id from the context menu or by double clicking on the item.

Using the context menu you can save the current Import column settings. These settings can be restored from the saved set.

The table at the bottom of the window displays the title, track position, track number and disc number for each track in the release. You can edit all of the information inline. Discogs information is submitted by users and as such various formats may be used to represent the information. All attempts are made to properly determine the correct track and disc numbers.

You can use the splitter bar separating the two tables, to change the size of the tables.

Various functions may be available to you via the bottom table's context menu.

Set Disc Break is used to identify the clicked track as the start of a new disc.

Clear Disc Break is used to merge the disc of the clicked track with the preceding track's disc. The function will only do something if the clicked track is the first on a disc.

Renumber Within Discs will renumber the tracks from 1 within each disc.

Renumber Eliminating Discs will renumber the tracks from 1 setting all the disc numbers to 1.

Merge Tracks can be used to merge consecutive selected tracks into a single track. This is only necessary if Yate was not able to properly determine a Discogs index set and its associated sub-tracks.

Split item into Separate Tracks can be used to split a clicked track into separate tracks. This is typically only necessary if Yate incorrectly accumulated tracks into an index set. Such items are identified by having a Title field with multiple titles separated by space/space sequences. Depending on how the index set was accumulated you may have to edit out the first title before performing the function. You can also enable any displayed track to be split but manually editing space/space into any title. Note that when a track is split, each created track has identical metadata as the original with the exception of the Title.

You can also choose to display the values in the Time column as milliseconds or as minutes:seconds. The setting you choose is retained.

If this release does not meet your requirements you can click on the Back to Release button and choose a different release from the list. Note that all editing changes will have been lost if you subsequently choose the same release.

If artwork is available for the release, the View Artwork button will be visible. This will take you to the artwork display where you can view and manually save the artwork.

If there are artwork related functions which can be performed, there will be a disclosure button to the immediate right of the Help button. When clicking on the disclosure button, the displayed menu may contain the following functions:

Show Artwork at Discogs
If artwork is available, selecting this function will take you to the Discogs site where the artwork available for the release will be displayed. Images from the web site may be dragged into Yate's artwork panel or main file list.
Load Unloaded Artwork
If not all artwork has been loaded due to your settings, selecting this item will start loading the artwork. If artwork is currently being loaded, this item will display so.

If an Import to Cue Sheet button is displayed, you can import metadata directly to a cue sheet. More information can be found here.

If you are satisfied with the release and its associated data you can click on the Continue button. This will take you to the File mapping display.
