It’s Giving Tuesday in Canada again and once again the 2ManyRobots bank account has been drained. (Actually more than drained as the gross is used to determine the donation amount).
I still personally hate Tahoe. While Apple has made some moves on the UI, I still find that the almost complete lack of contrast is terrible. Yate is still being built on the Sequoia SDK (for 10.13+) as it works and the editing panel fields are actually visible without a major rewrite. We’ll see what happens as the year progresses. I’m sure that next year when Apple drops Intel support things will require a ton of changes. More than likely there’ll be three builds of Yate as opposed to two 🙁
I’ve been spending a lot of time on file moving. Back in 2012, the most common file structure was Artist/Album/files. This has changed. These days many people are using Alpha/Artist/Album/files, Genre/Alpha/Artist/Album/files and other schemes. The next release of Yate … more than likely v8.4 … will have a lot of changes in these areas. I’ve personally made the change to having an alpha folder which has made it far easier to find an artist in the Finder.
I’m not too dependable on keeping these posts going so even though it’s early … Here’s wishing everyone a happy holiday season and all the best for the new year.
