Hi,

I have some Vinyl rip albums which I'd like to modify their File Names Track numbers to reflect the vinyl release, based on Discogs / Musicbrainz databases.

In the given example this is the release: https://musicbrainz.org/release/4f194e19-ae91-4918-baab-9ed2fbcb8793 / https://www.discogs.com/release/3651172-Anathema-The-Silent-Enigma

From: 01. Track Name to A1. Track Name
From: 02. Track Name to A2. Track Name
From: 03. Track Name to B1. Track Name and so on..

I'd like to modify the File Name only, preserving the Track Tags as 1, 2, 3, 4 etc..

I've always done it manually but I was wondering if Yate could work its magic.

Do you have the symbolic track numbers stored in the files? Both the Discogs and MusicBrainz Wizards let you import Track Position which is saved to a UDTI named Track Number Text.

If you have the information imported, it's trivial. If not, do you have Discogs and/or Release IDs?

If you do not have any retained information, searching will be required ... which complicates the issue. Let me know.

You Sir are a lifesaver!

Yes, I do have the Track Position, didn't realize I was already saving that tag with the Musicbrainz wizard. It was just hidden as a UDTI in All Tags tab.

I went to Rename option, used (Track Symbolic) as Token, so this will rename it with Track Position (A1, A2, B1, B2..):

❨Track Symbolic❩. ❨Title❩
