Normal topicQuestion about Yate track/album IDs

I read in the docs that Yate can create unique identifers: Yate track IDs and Yate album IDs.

I'm wondering, assuming that I would paste this Yate track ID in another custom field name and delete the original field "Yate track ID", does it introduce a risk that Yate gives the same ID to two files?

I'm not trying to use these ID with the database functionality. I just want to add unique identifiers to each files that my music player can read.

[edit] nevermind I will answer myself: I guess it's a standard uuid so it should be fine. That was a stupid question.

LOL. Not stupid. Some of this stuff gives me a headache.

You can create a custom field from a preset and name it Yate Track ID. Yate doesn't care if the particular UID is in a UDTI or a custom field ... it will work. You will then have the UID available in a custom field and can use the UI to generate it. Actions>Yate Database IDs (or via an action).

Alternately, if you want an ID disjoint from the standard Yate usage, simply create a different custom field and set it via the \u (backslash u) escape sequence.

Set the myCustomField field to "\u"
