Hello

I have quite a few box sets, and I actively use "Work name" and "Movement name" to display them nicely in Apple Music.
But in Plex (AM and Plex share one library), none of this is visible.
I had the idea to modify the track titles by adding a "Work name" to the beginning of each one. Something like "Planet Waves (1974): Forever Young". This wouldn’t affect how they appear in AM (the "Show movement" checkbox is enabled), but in Plex it would be clear which album the track belongs to.
I don't want to do this manually. It would be great to automate that. But I’m not sure how to implement this practically. The "Append" function appends only fixed text to the end of the certain field.

Append in the Multi Field Editor can specify fields from the context menu. ie. the text does not have to be static.

I've written an action which does the following:

The action only processes files which have a non empty Work Name field.

For those files, it looks for ": " in the Title field. If found all text before the ": " is removed. This will ensure that the action works if you modify the Work Name field. It then prepends the Work Name field followed by ": "

The action runs in immediate mode or the batch processor. It does not automatically save the files. If you run it through the Batch Processor, make sure you enable Auto-Save files.
