Good afternoon,

I have another issue that I’m hoping you can help me with. I would like to add the word “The” in front of artist names that commonly use it, such as The Jackson 5, The Notorious B.I.G., The Temptations, The Commodores, and others.

The issue I’m running into is that when I run the action more than once, it keeps adding multiple “The” entries in front of the artist name.

For example:

Original:
Jackson 5 - Blame It on the Boogie

Correct version:
The Jackson 5 - Blame It on the Boogie

If I run the action more than once:
The The Jackson 5 - Blame It on the Boogie
The The The Jackson 5 - Blame It on the Boogie

I have tried several different approaches, but I have not been able to get it to work correctly. Is there a way to only add “The” if it is not already present?

Do whatever you're doing and at the end of the action issue a Replace with regular expression as in the attached screenshot.

Select as many fields as you want. The statement will replace any sequences of the retaining the first. Alphabetic case is not significant but the case of the first the is retained.

Note that there is a space after the $1 in the replace template field.
