I've noticed that a number of my albums either appear to have missing artwork or occur multiple times in the new iTunes 11 Album view mode.

This appears to be an iTunes database issue and unfortunately simply refreshing the files in iTunes does not solve the issue. As far as I can tell the problem disappears if the name of the album is changed.

The Fix Duplicate Albums in iTunes action will change an album's name, save it and change it back. This corrects both the missing artwork and multiple occurrences of the same album issues.

To use the action, make sure Yate's Open options are: Album mode, Replace the File List, Do not Process Subfolders. With iTunes viewing albums, drag an album into Yate. Once the album is displayed and linked simple run the Fix Duplicate Albums in iTunes action. You should see the album's issues corrected in iTunes.

You can download it here

I'm completely new to Yate, I bought it specifically for this feature.
I downloaded the .zip file, it then creates a .cpgz file, seems to go on forever. both files are greyed out when I try to import the file via the "Yate>Import Prefences" menu. any help much obliged!

Hi there. The zip file seems to be corrupt. I've uploaded a new copy of the file. Please use the same link as before. When you unzip the file you should have a file named 'Fix Duplicate Albums in iTunes.plist'.

Sorry for the problem. I'll have to look into how files on the site are getting corrupted.

I've imported the action and it all seems fine. I can't test it because I no longer have any duplicate albums 🙂

I'm trying to import the .plist, but get the error: File <path> is not formatted correctly (1137/1120)

I made my own action in the meantime, which seems to do the trick.

Oops. Too many hours chained to my desk. Yate tests to make sure you're not importing from a newer version than you are currently running. You have build 1120. When I exported the action to recreate the zip file I was on build 1137. Sorry about that. I've patched the file...again. I glad you were able to create your own action. Let us know if there's anything we can help you with in the future.
