Normal topicdiscos Release, Barcode and Cat#

I've got a compilation Wicked Jazz Sounds Volume 7. The Discogs Wizard can't find it. I can find it on discos. http://www.discogs.com/release/2279588 Is this because there is no catalog #? There's a discos Release # and a barcode #. Is there a field for Discogs Release #? Also I can find it on MusicBrainz https://musicbrainz.org/release/2dc1528f-1fd2-4cf4-bf2d-3cd34599bd01 How can I import the info? download the xml from musicbrainz? Excel doesn't like that xml for some reason. Thanks - you're awesome

I'm not sure what your track metadata contains. If I start the Discogs wizard and search for Album 'Wicked Jazz Sounds Volume 7' with an empty Artist field or an Artist field of Various, I get one hit which is the same as the one at your link. If I run the MusicBrainz wizard with the same metadata I get lots of hits of which the first is correct. Something must be different in your metadata.

Regardless, both wizards allow you to specify a release id directly in the Album search field as:

id=releaseID#

The Artist field is ignored when an 'id' is directly specified.

In the Discogs wizard specifying:
Album search field ----> id=2279588 will work

In the MusicBrainz wizard specifying:
Album search field ----> id=2dc1528f-1fd2-4cf4-bf2d-3cd34599bd01 will work

I hope this helps

Glad you're having fun 🙂

The Discogs master id is stored in a User Defined Text Information (UDTI) named DISCOGS_MASTER_ID. You can see it on the 'UD Text' editing panel.

There's a help topic called 'Field Mapping Table', accessible off the main help page, which describes all of Yate's field mappings. It's a nice table which is terrible to maintain 🙂
