Hi, sorry for being a bug-a-boo. Working thru learning the scripting method. I see there is a Most Common Artist to Album Artist script. I'm trying to do something in the same area, but with a twist.. I'm looking to take the most common artist and make it the artist.

Say, you have have 2 live crew, the two live crew, the 2 Live Crew, Or 2pac and Tupac.. You want to select a set of files, and the most common artist of the set, wins..

I could do this manually, but It seems with Yate, scripting is where it's at. This is more for learning than it is work.

Any Suggestions..

I've told my DJ friends about this app. It's that damn good..

The Most Common Artist to Album action respects albums. It maintains a unique 'most common' for each album.

Do you want to ignore Albums? ie. the most common artist in a list of files (regardless of album) gets plugged into the Artist field.

Exactly. This would be in regards to a folder of Singles. I have a ton of files from record pools that I'm trying to clean up..

Unzip the file and import the plist. Most Common Artist to Artist.

Note that this variant will work if some tracks have an empty Artist field. However, the 'empty' Artist will never be the most common.

Thank you!!!. I'm going thru the various scripts and deriving some understanding. This is an extremely powerful tool. When you implement the search/filtering, I truly think there will be no util that can compare. Me being a DJ, being sent files that are just terribly tagged, This tool is really making my life easier. I'm new to the Mac world, and feel sorry for those that or stuck on Windows as this App isn't on that platform. Sucks for them.

Filtering is implemented and is going through a test cycle. I've implemented full filter predicate capabilities for all potential columns in the main window. You can save, edit export and do on the fly filters. Relational and positional operators, And, Or, Not, etc. The filters can be applied to hiding files or to closing files.

It'll be available for testing soon.
