Normal topicMoving feat

Hello all,

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to move the "ft", "feat", "featuring" from the artist tag to the title tag?

For example, let's say after doing a MusicBrainz import of an album, the following mp3 gets tagged:
Title: Runaway Love (Osio remix)
Artist: Bobby D'Ambrosio feat. Lasala

However, I need it to be like:
Title: Runaway Love (Osio remix) (ft. Lasaia)
Artist: Bobby D'Ambrosio

If anyone could help me to achieve this using Yate, that would be great!
Is there a setting in the MusicBrainz preferences or an action that can do this?

Second question,
When importing using Discogs, the "The" in the artist field is always added to the end.
For example "Smashing Pumpkins, The"
Instead of "The Smashing Pumpkins"
How can I change this Discogs importing behaviour?

I really like Yate and want to buy it but I need these features really bad 🙁

Thanks in advance!
Nick

Hi there is a sample action called "Featuring Manipulation" on the Sample Actions webpage. (Accessible from the Yate Help menu). It will coalesce all variants of "featuring" found on the Title and Artist fields into a single entry on the Title field. You can modify it to set the desired form of the word "featuring" in the end result.

There is a "Sort Form" action statement which will do what you want with the sort form of fields. e.g.

Set for non sorting in the Artist and Album Artist fields

The above will change "Smashing Pumpkins, The" to "The Smashing Pumpkins". You control which words are recognized by means of the Natural Sort Exception set configured in Preferences-Exceptions. The default list of words is "the", "a" and "an".

If you want to do both automatically after importing from Discogs and/or MusicBrainz, you can create a new action as follows:

Set for non sorting in the Artist and Album Artist fields
Run action 'Featuring Manipulation'

You can then tell the Discogs wizard and/or the MusicBrainz wizard to run the new action whenever something is imported. You can you this on the Discogs and MusicBrainz preferences panels.

Two for two. 🙂

Wow! That's some fast and great support.
Seems with the actions everything is possible! 🙂
Managed to get it working + some extras which I needed.
I still have some issues with "vs" and "ft" when they occur both in the artist field but I should be able to correct that with some corrections to the scripts.

I gladly bought it to support you guys!

Thanks,
Nick

Hi,

is also possible to use the Sort Form for e.g. "Die", "Der" etc. instead of "The", "A", etc.? "Die Fantastischen 4" --> "Fantastischen 4, Die"
If there would be an setting to expand the range of keywords ... 😉

n.r.

The Sort Form statement uses the Natural Sort Exception set. In Preferences-Exceptions look for the set with the (s) special indicator. Add whatever words you wish. 🙂
