Normal topicMaximum iTunes Grouping-Work Name Compatibility and Track No. Issue

When I have Maximum iTunes Grouping-Work Name Compatibility enabled in preferences, the track number field doesnt work properly. For the field Track Number X of Y for example, Y is never saved, but X is.

Any preference changes i should make?

Well the track field certainly has nothing to do with that option. I can set Y when not linked to iTunes. When I change Y and I'm linked it changes in iTunes. I can't find a scenario where it doesn't work. I'm missing something here.

How are you editing Y? In the Info editing panel? Inline in the file list? Are you linked to iTunes? Where is it not changing?

Editing it in the Info editing panel. It worked just fine until i turned on the gouping option. now it leaves the field blank. it only works now if i am linked to itunes, not if i edit a file before importing it to itunes.

Okay. You load a track and don't link it. You enter a number in the 'Track Of' field and nothing happens? I must still be missing something

Yate has a copy metadata function. You can load the FLAC and MP3 versions at the same time and copy all the metadata from one to the other. The Actions menu has a Copy Metadata submenu. The main help page has a topic called 'Copying Metadata from One Album to Another'.
