Rename templates being used inside and out of actions places it in a somewhat unique position in the code. Even if escape sequencing was introduced there is no way it could introduce rename tokens and could only be used for text. The templates are designed to be extensible by the use of track variables. Virtually anything can be inserted into the text string via this mechanism.
