Oops. I did not intend to post this to a second topic. I don't seem to be able to delete this.

Hi,
I am trying to use the 'artist' tag to add arbitrary (not really artists) keywords to tracks. It worked fine for the first group of discs but the latest discs did not parse the artist tag at the delimiter (;;;). I observed this issue in my media server tree. Examples are
<Black Composers>;;;Baltimore Symphony Orchestra / Paul Freeman
<Henry Fogel>;;;Renata Tebaldi;;;Giuseppe Di Stefano
The first disc works perfectly, I can find the tracks using both the <...> or Baltimore...Freeman items in my servers list of 'all artists'.
The second disc tracks only appear as the complete text string.
Does anyone have any ideas what might cause this?
Thanks.

The music files are ALAC (m4a). The media server is Minimserver.

Minimserver supports multiple items in MPEG-4 containers by the Single Atom / Multiple Data method. This is not the out of the box setting in Yate.

In Preferences - Audio - MPEG - 4 set Multi value write method to Single Atom / Multiple Data

After making the change you'll have to resave the files. You can do so via File>Save Selected Files>Save Always

You may have to resync the files.

Wow. The change you suggested works perfectly. Thanks a lot. I don't understand 'single atom/multiple data' but it's working. To satisfy my curiosity, I will look for further explanation later. It won't be much (any) trouble for me to correct; I had done my test and was updating my first batch of discs when I saw it wasn't working as expected.

Thanks again.
