I searched the Forum but didn't find exactly what I was looking for. I've recently started thinking about how I've been handling album artwork in my music library which has led to some confusion. I've generally been trying to embed all my music files with an album cover image as well as adding a "folder.jpg" to the folder with the music files. Covering all of my bases so to speak. This seems a bit redundant and a poor management of storage space to do both. As a check I took an album and deleted the embedded artwork from the 18 tracks and compared the folder size to a copy with embedded artwork. The sizes of the two folders were identical despite the one folder having a 500KB image embedded in each flac file. Even at the individual file level the sizes were identical. Why is this true, why does the embedded image file (jpg) appear to not increase the file size?
