Normal topicHow can I insert more than one space into rename file name?

When using RENMAE to rename files w/ disc and track number, I would like to have more than one space between the track number and the title. when I edit the template by inserting another space I do get the center dot thingy indicating there are two spaces between the track number and title but it only ever inserts one space in the file name. like "❨Disc❩-❨Track Pad2❩···❨Title❩" should write the 3 spaces between track and title but it doesn't. thanks

The renamer by default compresses sequences of spaces and removes leading and trailing spaces ... as designed.

However, you're the second person who has asked for this since Yate was first released. Sometimes it's good not to be the first 🙂

Preferences - General - Rename space handling has three settings:

  • No Changes tells the rename process to not modify spaces
  • Remove Leading/Trailing only removes leading and trailing spaces.
  • Remove Leading/Trailing and Compress is the out of the box default
