I'm always hiding & showing the sidebars in my Finder with the command-alt-s key command.

I'm always hiding & showing the file browser in Yate to give me a bit more room on my laptop screen.

Is it possible that these two ideas can be made to work together? Maybe I could assign the same keyboard command to hide the file browser in Yate?

(While I'm on the subject, it would be really handy to be able to hide the Info Panel, too! 😀 )

Hide the Info Panel .... Window>Disable File Browser Information Area.

Hide and show the File Browser with a keyboard shortcut.

Preferences-Shortcuts
Select Window
Select Show/Hide File Browser
Enter command-alt-s

🙂

Perfect!

Except the file browser information area in that particular command... Is that not the little window that appears at the bottom if the file browser?

I mean the main big 8-tab info panel on the right.

There is no way to completely hide the edit panel area ... and based on the amount of work it would take to change the internals to accommodate that, there most likely never will be. Sorry

No probs, just wondered. Thanks for the other tip, though. I might've known!
