Normal topicToolbar Run Action for Renumber Tracks From...

Is it possible to create a Toolbar Run Action for "Renumber Tracks From..." that asks for input when it is run (for the desired starting number)? Is there an escape sequence that asks for user input, or some other way to make this work? TIA.

The Actions>Renumber Tracks>From menu item can be assigned to a keyboard shortcut. However if you really want it assigned to a toolbar icon, download the following file: https://2manyrobots.com/actions/Renumber-Tracks-From.zip

- drag the downloaded file to the main window's file list area
- right click on the toolbar and select Customize Toolbar
- drag one of the 10 Action # toolbar items to the toolbar.
- open the Action Manager from the Actions menu.
- select the Renumber Tracks From action
-right click on the line and select Set as Toolbar Action #

If you want to supply an alternate icon do the following:

- Yate>Preferences
- File List - Toolbar Action Icons
- select the same # and drag over an icon.

Thank you so much for the action and the detailed instructions. I do prefer to run actions from the tool bar. I have the half dozen actions that I use lined up, and going down the line means that I don't have to think and that I don't miss anything in terms of tagging consistency from session to session.

I'll spend some time later today looking at the plist file and hopefully I can learn how you structured the action. The degree to which Yate can be customized, and the extent of the tools and options available, is truly remarkable! Thank you again.

Glad you like it. If you want to examine the action open it from the Action Manager. Looking at the plist file will not reveal anything useful.
