Normal topicDiscogs Import Wizard – Still Loading Artwork

It's been about 6 months since I used Yate, and in version 16.6.1 I get this message most of the times I use the Discogs import wizard, unless I wait a considerable amount of time before importing. I've never seen this message before and wasn't sure what to make of it.

Is there a way to disable this feature, or can you help me understand what the artwork load is trying to do?

Thank you!

It's always been this way. The artwork is loaded in the background so that you can view the results and make a decision as to if you want to wait. If you Continue, you will get all the metadata and whatever artwork has already been loaded.

I'm on a terrible cell based network today and I just loaded up an album which has 6 artwork items and it loaded in about the time I would expect. Discogs access is dynamically rate limited. Typically its about one artwork item per second but the duration can be extended at their discretion at runtime. If you hit the View Artwork button, you can see the images coming in one at a time.

You can configure the wizard to preload only the first artwork item. Go to Preferences - Discogs - Artwork and set it to preload only a single artwork item. (2nd setting on the panel). The Import all Artwork setting, on the same panel, will be irrelevant as it only controls which downloaded artwork items will automatically be imported and defaults to 1.

I forgot to mention that when set to preload a single artwork item, you can still get them all by doing a View Artwork and specifying which additional items you want to load.

OK strange, I never received this message until last week, and I've ran the importer hundreds of times. Anyway, thanks for the clarification.

I have a question on this. When using Discogs Wizard it says it's loading x number of artwork but it only ever imports one image, the cover. I do have Import All Artwork checked in the Discogs preferences pane. I would love to have it import all the art work. thanks

As mentioned in this thread, the artwork is loaded in the background. You have to check Artwork in the list of metadata to import.

If you want to load all artwork the Settings - Discogs - Artwork panel should be set to:

Import all artwork and to Preload all Artwork.

You'll still see the warning if not all the artwork has been loaded when you say import ... but you'll get all the artwork.

I have settings set to preload and import all and I have the Artwork checked for import. I can see in Discogs Wizard for the Artwork line (which is checked) it will say "Discogs: available 3, loaded 3" and after I import I can still only see the Primary artwork in the Main Window Artwork Panel. Not sure how I'm goofing this up.
Thanks.

Well, it seems as if you're doing everything correct. However I just did it again and it's working. Something is set wrong. No offence, but when you say the Artwork line is checked, do you a checkmark or a dash. If you see a dash it means only if empty. In the case of Artwork that means if you have no artwork already. I can duplicate your scenario if Artwork is set to dash (which is the correct behaviour).

If the above scenario is not what's happening, do a Settings>Export Settings. Make sure everything is selected and export as a zip. Email the settings to support@2manyrobots.com and I'll have a look.

It's a checkmark, not a dash. In the past I've been able to see all the artwork in the artwork pane of the Main Window. I'll email you settings. Thanks so much for your time.
