Normal topicHow do you handle genres?

As most of my music cannot be described with just one genre, I wonder how other handle the problematic of multiple genres?

If you use automatic playlist a lot, putting all of them together in one tag should be fine, e.g. »Electronic, Drum’n’Bass«, If I would like to browse my Drum’n’Bass music, I could create an automatic playlist which just searches for »Drum’n’Bass« within the genre. But this is not clean at all. There is a genre called »Bass«, when I would create an automatic playlist to look for »Drum’n’Bass«, all false matches to »Bass« would be in there as well. With this it would not be possible to browse by genre as well, e.g. in iTunes you would have multiple genres like this:

»Electronic«
»Electronic, Drum’n’Bass«

The cleanest solution would be to use multiple genre tags like this:

Genre: Electronic
Genre: Drum’n’Bass
Genre: Abstract

This would correct the problem explained above but creates newer problems: Most music-players only support one genre-tag.

Currently I stick with the all-in-one-tag-method, but it does not feel right…

How do you handle this?
