How to: Scroll main window file area left & right.

I used to do this regularly. One day the scroll bar disappeared and I'm at a loss.
Can someone please help get past this?

Main window scrolling is handled by the standard table construct and is handled completely by the system. ie. Yate does nothing to scroll up/down or left/right.

Scroll bars are automatically hidden by the table construct unless required. If you can scroll vertically, there is no reason that you can't scroll horizontally.

Older mice with scroll buttons required a setting to enable Shift to be held. You should check the system Settings app (from the Apple icon) for mouse or trackpad settings to see how you are currently configured.

While this differs depending on the version of the OS, there is a Settings option determining Scroll bar behaviour in the Appearance section. Typically there is an option to always show scroll bars, however this will affect all applications on the Mac.

There are a lot of variables here. OS version, mouse, wireless trackpad, built in trackpad, etc.

Thanks. If I change system settings>appearance>Show scroll bars to *allways* or *automatically* I get scroll bars and its good. If set to *when scrolling* there are no bars and I can't scroll.

Don't know how that happened but thanks for the information.
