I would like to create customized playlists that can be stored in a specific folder of my choosing. These playlists can either reflect the album name or feature a unique title that I create, instead of simply using the location of the MP3 files.

I'm assuming that you do not mean m3u files? Do you mean an arbitrary text file? If so, what do you want to be stored for each file?

These playlists can either reflect the album name or feature a unique title that I create, instead of simply using the location of the MP3 files.

If this is for a per file value? What do you want to use for the text? Where would the per file title come from? Will you be saving it to a UDTI or custom field in the tracks?

I've thought on this a little more. I could write an action which takes a rename template. The action would produce a text file where each line represents the filename produced by the rename template (without the filename extension).

This would allow you to easily specify whatever you'd like to appear on each text line.

For example:

❨Album❩ - ❨Title❩

Does this make sense?
