Hi, as per title I get this error when trying to save a cover as a folder image. Until a few months ago it always worked correctly.
Do you have any ideas? Thank you very much.

It can be the image or the destination file system. Try a different image.

If it still doesn't work and you're saving to a folder on a network drive, try it locally.

The functionality is a simple call to the OS to perform the save .... Yate simply passes the image and the folder to the OS. It either works or fails. You can always try rebooting.

I've just tried it on a local and netwroked drive and it's working as expected.

Thanks for the info, yes, the folder is on a shared disk. Very strange, it had always worked, I will try to investigate... yes, locally everything works fine as usual.

I had a report about a year ago from a Synology user who had the same issue. The strange thing is that he was able to change the icon in the Finder. I filed a request for info from Apple but I never received an answer. Unfortunately, I have no idea what Synology settings could cause the issue. My NAS is a QNAP.

It can be a driver or a NAS setting. My NAS is a QNAP and it works fine.

No, it is a shared disk from another Mac, and yes, I can manually change the icon from the Finder. There are no permission problems, TAGs are written without errors.

The ‘Icon?’ file is created but with zero bytes.

I may be OS dependent or how the Macs are shared. I just did it it from a Mac running15.6 to a different Mac running 15.6 and one running 11.7.10. Both worked as expected. I'm using SMB.

Oops! I forgot that the Mac “Client” I'm using now uses Tahoe beta 5, tomorrow I'll try it with the “Production” laptop I use for work. I'll update you tomorrow.

I just tried it both ways between Tahoe beta 5 and Sequoia 15.6. It worked. Both Macs are using SMB
