Normal topicImport files from Desktop or Downloads

Hello! Yes, I am new to Yaté. When I tag, I prefer to use the Desktop to load files while tagging. However, in the app, on the left-hand side, I see Desktop and Downloads with an arrow in a circle pointing down. When I click on Documents, Music, Pictures or most other folders, I can access them. I can't access them with Desktop Downloads folders. (I have yet to upgraded to Tahoe.) When I drag from the desktop, that doesn't work either. I most use AIF, AIFF files and some FLAC. I have no plans of wanting any connection to iTunes, Music or Apple apps.

Any help, much appreciated.

Thanks,
Roboticfr1

Use of the File Browser (on the left hand side) is completely optional. In fact, you can hide it to increase the file list area's space. Window>Hide File Browser.

You can drag from any folder, including the desktop, directly into Yate's file list area. What gets loaded depends on Yate's Open Mode. There's a very old video on YouTube which describes opening files. You get get to it off Yate's web resource page or directly at the following link.

At some point the OS will have prompted you for various permissions. Use the desktop, etc. Say Yes 🙂

To check the permissions, Yate should be enabled in System Settings - Privacy & Security for the following items.

Full Disk Access
Files & Folders
Automation
Media & Apple Music
Accessibility

The above should all have been enabled by the OS issuing a prompt asking you if the usage is okay. There should be no need for you to do it manually.

I initially wanted to ensure that Yate works on Tahoe. So, I tried it on a Developer Beta on an external drive. I didn't not allow it to have Full Disk Access. I haven't upgraded my computer to Tahoe yet, but on my recent Yate install on Sequoia, I now have Yate with Full Disk Access. Thank you.
