Some of my albums have multiple discs, but the disc info is recorded in the album rather than the under the disc column.

For example one will say

The Album - CD1

This is a complicated request but I thought I'd ask anyway, I am wondering if I can create some sort of search which will find anything on the end of an album title with with disc/CD/disk etc, copy that word and everything after it to a variable, then somehow extract the numerical value from that selection and insert it into the disc metadata column.

Any ideas on how this could be done?

Try this:

- unzip
- Yate>Import Preferences

You'll have an action named 'Set Disc Numbers from Album Name'.

It will look for album names ending in CD #, disc #, Disk # (any alphabetic case). If found, the disc number will be set appropriately. This is done on a per file basis so you can run it agains multiple albums at the same time if you wish.

That works perfectly. I hope I'm not being greedy by asking, but I have a hell of a lot of albums that have discs in separate folders but no meta data to state it is disc 1 or disc 2 etc.

Is there anyway to do the exact same thing as what you've done here, except checking the parent folder names to see if a disc number is stated?

If a disc number is not found in the album field it will attempt to find it in the name of the folder containing the tracks.

The new action is named: Set Disc Numbers from Album Name 2
