I see mappings for Original Release Time
to

ORIGINAL YEAR (Written by default)
ORIGINALDATE
ORIGINAL_YEAR

I understand there's no standard and I can put anything I want.
But maybe someone knows why there are three explicit options.
What tools use these variations?

There are three variants 'read' because over time users have sent us files which contain the 'non default' items. Unfortunately I don't know what those files were tagged with. It just seemed like a good compromise to read them and blow them away the next time the file was written. Sorry I don't have a more meaningful answer for you 🙂
