What is the easiest /best way to scan through User Defined Fields to see if a particular one exists?

For example, in the function Create AcoustID Fingerprint it only executes on tracks that don't already have that User Defined Field. If I am making an action and I want to build in similar checking for a particular User Defined Field what is the best way to do this?

The User Defined function with options: Export value, case insensitive, set state. An action test state of true implies that the item exists...and you'll have the value

Okay that is good to know I was doing it right even though I don't need the value. I though for sure there had a to be a better way. :/
