Normal topicRemove Artwork Option

Hey 2MR2,

I was wondering if was somehow possible to use the Remove Artwork action to remove artwork that does not have equal width and height? For example the vast majority of undesired artwork I find attached to the files or in the folder is either posters, fan art or photographs of the actual album and disc rather than the cover, and almost all of these do not have equal dimensions. If there was a way to search and remove anything where width and height do not match it would allow me to flush a lot of these out much more easily.

I'm sure it's doable and I haven't thought of it 🙂

Well you got me. 🙂 There is no way to do it now.

It is easy to add, but I would suggest making it within 1% of square as I did in the Scale if Approximately Square option in the Artwork Preferences. There are a lot of cover images which are a few pixels off square which are perfectly good.

I can put in in v3.8.

Ahhh.....I'm getting too old for this.

There is a way to do it using the Indexed Artwork function along with the Remove Artwork function. I'll post an action a little later today.

I've posted it on the Sample Actions page. It's called Delete Artwork Not Squarish.

Works great mate 🙂 One thing, how can I adjust the evaluate expression to allow for a greater percentage of variation?

Change the Test statement after the Evaluate statement. Currently it tests for != 0.

For 5% change the statement to say >= 5.
For 10% change the statement to say >= 10
etc.

I updated the sample action to make it easier to change the percentage. Delete the previous version and download it again.

The first executable statement is Set Variable 0 to 1

Change it to be Set Variable 0 to 'required percentage'
