Normal topicsave Artist and track name to filename

Hi,
Somehow I can't figure out how to save the 1 artist and 2 Trackname to the filename
Example:

The filename is now Trackname.mp3
And I want it to be:
Artist - Trackname.mp3

Probably this is very easy.
On a PC I used (Tag and rename) and it was as simple as pushing a save button.

Can somebody help me?
Thanks in advance
Ruud

Normal topicRe: save Artist and track name to filename

You need a Rename Template to specify Artist - Title. You can either create it yourself, or download a variety of sample rename templates from the Sample Actions page (available from the Help Menu). Look for Rename in the Category column. Once downloaded and installed you will have a rename template called "Sample: Artist - Title --> Filename". (You can rename this if you wish).

Select the files you want to rename and do any of the following:

- File>Rename>Sample: Artist - Title --> Filename
- use a Rename toolbar icon, choose "Sample: Artist - Title --> Filename"
- use the Rename Files action statement in an action setting "Sample: Artist - Title --> Filename"
- in Preferences-Shortcuts assign "File>Rename>Sample: Artist - Title --> Filename" to a keyboard shortcut and from then on enter the key sequence

Here's a direct link to the sample rename templates:

Unzip the file and either import the extracted plist file via File>Import Preferences or by dragging it to the main window's file list area.
