Normal topicID3 tags in Windows

I was a little alarmed to see that files that I tagged with obvious things like title, artist and artwork, don't show these things when played back on Windows Media Player (Windows 7).

This isn't one of those mad things where the ID3 info is stored in the resource fork or something is it? How do I get this info to show in Windows?

Hopefully I've missed something obvious.

Not to worry. ID3 v2.4 is the default tag format that Yate writes. It was released in 2000. Windows, for some reason does not support it. 🙁

In Preferences-Audio-ID3 enable mp3 (which is what I assume you're using). That will tell Yate to write ID3v2.3 format which Windows can read.

You can fix your files in one of two ways:

From the UI do a File>Save Selected Files>Save Always.

Via an action (immediate or through the Batch Processor), create a one line action with a Save statement. Make sure the "Save files always" option is set.
