It will not produce an ID3v2.3 file. Id3v2.3 is the tag specification Yate will use when writing your audio files. If previously you did not have AIFF checked in the preferences for ID3v2.3 Yate will have been writing the data using the ID3v2.4 specification.

No extra files will be created. Your AIFF files will have the metadata written differently inside the AIFF files.

You can verify this in a variety of ways.

If you select a single track and look at the Audio editing panel, in the audio information box you will see a version. It will either be ID3v2.3 or ID3v2.4. Tracks written before you made the preference change will save ID3v2.4. Tracks written after you made the preference change will say ID3v2.3

You can also select a file and do a File>Log>Raw Data. At the top of the displayed log file you will see an 'ID3 Tag version' line.

It's there even before I did it your way but when burning to a CD it won't play, I'm using a Mac and an LG external CD/DVD player/Burner. Because thew Apple burners/Players are not the best.

So the tracks you attempted to burn were already ID3v2.3????

If that's the case I have no idea why the CDs won't play.

Will the burned CD play on your Mac? Try playing the CD in iTunes.

If the CD plays on the Mac then the problem is with the CD player on the car.

If the Mac cannot play the CD, then it is not being burned correctly. I am not implying an error on your part. For some reason the burning software is not correctly writing the AIFF files.

I just had another idea. Are you burning an Audio CD or a Data CD? Some cars will play both but the formatting is entirely different. Many cars will not read data CDs.
