I was wondering if there is a way to have YATE update the file modification date for files whose metadata I have modified? As it is, changing the metadata doesn't seem to trigger the file modification date that Finder sees. As a result, backup software doesn't see the files as modified, even though I've just spent a whole lot of time improving the tags in my music collection.

I was thinking of something along the lines of the 'touch' command, but done automatically.

Thanks

By default, Yate updates the modification time of all files it writes. More than likely if you are not seeing this behaviour, the Preference - General setting of "preserve modification date/time when saving audio files" must have been checked. Uncheck it and you should be fine.

Preferences - Audio - Common. I still recommend that the setting should not be set. Far too many players rely on the system's change notifications.
