Text replacements for foreign characters?

Normal topicText replacements for foreign characters?

I'd like to strip out accented foreign characters when renaming files. I understand the "replacements" tab in Preferences can accomplish this, but was wondering if anybody has a list of accented characters with replacements. For example:

é becomes e
â becomes a

... and so on. Many thanks in advance.

The Re-Encode action statement has a setting called Remove Accents. The Rename template can force the result to ISO-Latin-1, but that will not get rid of all accented characters. Your best bet is to copy the fields to variables, Re-Encode - Remove Accents, and to use the variables in the template. Doing this via a Replacement Set will be tedious.
