Normal topicLabel <-> Publisher Field

I just read the changes of Yate 2.3.1 and I don’t understand this change:

Feature Request: Differentiate between Label and Publisher. The field previously named Publisher has been renamed to Label as that was the usage. Rename and File to Tag templates will automatically have any Publisher tokens renamed to Label. A new field named Publisher has been added. A FLAC mapping for the new field will automatically be created.

»TPUB« is the correct ID3 frame to store the label in. Where do »Label« and »Publisher« map to now? Do I have to change my actions, where I used »Publisher« (which should map to »TPUB«)?

So if I understand correctly, former use of »publisher« was changed to »label«, which maps to »TPUB« now. But to which ID3 frame does »publisher« map to?

Hi, think of it as a UI textual change. All of your actions will work as expected.

There was a lot of confusion with the Label and Publisher terms and there were many requests to maintain separate fields as some people wanted to differentiate between the two.

Previously Yate used the term Publisher to represent what most people referred to as Label. This is the value stored in TPUB for ID3 formats. This field is now referred to as Label everywhere in the UI. Any action which you had which referred to Publisher has automatically been changed to refer to Label. It is the same value and still uses TPUB as the mapping. No changes required.

Publisher is now a new field mapped to TXXX/PUBLISHER.
