The description for this states that both the source to be spilt AND the destination of the right hand portion be both Fields/Tags or both Variables. But the entry box drop down list for that right hand portion only lists Variables. There is no way to specify a field to use.

The source can be specified as a field, but the RH can only be a Variable and since that combination is not permitted, I can see no way to be able to apply the split to a field. It has to be copied first and everything done on variables only.

Whilst this can be done, it is NOT what the docs state. Am I wrong, is there a bug or are the docs wrong?

It is a documentation error. Track Variables are fields internally. However you should be able to specify the left hand side as a non-variable field and the right hand side as a track variable. If this is not working it is a bug...however it is working for me. Left me know.

The documentation will be fixed. I will look into allowing a proper field as the right hand side.
