Hi,

I'm in the process of cleaning up my tags and would like to use MusicBrainz to update tags firs and use Discogs as alternative. In any case, I've read through the documentation on both wizards.

However I came across an option to "restrict the import of data only to empty fields" (presumably to not overwrite existing metadata information) in the following help page: file:///Applications/Yate.app/Contents/Resources/YateHelp/MusicBrainzMapping.html

Specifically it says "You can restrict the import of data only to empty fields via the Only import missing data option in Preferences - MusicBrainz."

Unfortunately I can't find this option in Yate - Preferences - MusicBrainz. I'm using Yate 6.0.2.

Can you pls direct me to the correct Preference setting? Thx.

Oops the documentation is incorrect and refers to the way it used to work years ago. It used to be all or nothing. The newer implementation gives you per metadata item granularity.

It's not a preference setting. On the Release Details panel of each wizard, the checkboxes are tristate controls.

Empty means do not import
Checked means always import
- means import if empty.

Each click on a checkbox changes the value. You can also use the context menu do pick a setting for more than one item at a time.

Sorry for the confusion. I'll correct the documentation.

Thx for the clarification. I was aware of the tristate controls however wasn't sure if I was missing another control.
